Paper #1 A Parallel/Analysis of our short stories and Catcher in the Rye

Your first story, "Shadowing Holden", explored a particular incident in your life that was revealed in a short story. Some of the themes in your story were apparent and your group members pointed a few others out to you. Elaborate on the main issues involved in your story and then make connections and comparisons to Holden's attitude and behaviors or to his view of life in Catcher in the Rye. Use your short story as a starting point or a second point and write an explanation of how this story connects with Holden' life using textual reference to support your ideas and feelings, his point of view and attitude toward people and the outside world in general. Compare it to your view of life, or how it reflects and reveals who you are, or emphasize what you have learned.

4. Your short story chronicles a risky situation that you experienced and that you learned a lesson. Is there a situation that Holden learned the same thing or was caught doing something risky?

5. You learned something from a sports incident. Were there characters involved that you judged too quickly, was your attitude suspect or did you display negative behavior that mimics Holden.

6. Finally, what is your final analysis of this situation? Did you learn anything about life or people or how to approach a problem with a different attitude or philosophical mantra?
